Motorised Satellite Reception, LBand Distribution, RTE TV Dublin

As part of the upgrade in L Band infrastructure, Libirel Communications installed a Precision 2.4m motorised receive dish.  The controller has remote access to polarization as well as azimuth and elevation.  The output of the dish is fed, along with the rest of the dish farm, to an ETL L-Band Routing matrix that allows it and the other dishes in the dish farm to be sent to a bank of integrated receiver decoders for programme delivery within the station.

The routing matrix gives flexibility routing signals in the satellite area equivalent to that normally used in video and audio layers of the TV station. Simple rerouting of signals is possible with backup paths quickly deployed in the event of equipment failure.
